What is Tort Law

Tort law encompasses the legal field addressing civil suits, excluding contractual disputes. It pertains to wrongful injuries or harms committed against others, resulting in loss or harm to an individual. Tort law aims to provide relief to injured parties, assign liability to wrongdoers, and discourage harmful actions. In this legal context, the injured party is the complainant, while the wrongdoer is referred to as the defendant or tortfeasor. A tort is an action or omission that infringes upon a legal right or causes harm.
