Ticker Symbol

A ticker symbol is a unique series of letters (and sometimes numbers) that identifies a specific stock. Different markets may use various suffixes for the same symbol to show where the stock is traded; for example, "IDEA.NS" on NSE and "RPOWER.BO" on BSE.
