A Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) is a unique identifier assigned to individuals or businesses by tax authorities for tracking and processing tax-related activities, such as filing tax returns and paying taxes. In the United States, the TIN is often the Social Security Number (SSN) for individuals and the Employer Identification Number (EIN) for businesses.
