Sensitivity Analysis

Tax Glossary Definition

Sensitivity Analysis

Sensitivity analysis examines how variations in one or more input factors influence the results of a model or decision-making framework. Often referred to as “what-if” or scenario analysis, it helps evaluate the robustness of outcomes, determine which variables most affect performance, and guide strategic adjustments to improve results under changing conditions.

Example: An investor might perform a sensitivity analysis to understand how shifts in interest rates or sales growth rates could change a company’s future profit projections.
