Money Order

A payment instrument used to send or receive money through postal or authorized financial channels. Amounts received by way of a money order are generally taxable under the head “Income from Other Sources” unless specifically exempt. Example: ₹10,000 received through a money order from an overseas relative may be treated as taxable income, depending on the nature of the remittance.
