Exemption for Scholarships

Exemption for Scholarships applies to any scholarship or grant provided to support educational expenses. As per Section 10(16) of the Income Tax Act, such amounts are entirely exempt from taxation.

Example: A student receiving ₹50,000 as a scholarship for PhD research is not required to include this amount in taxable income.
