Deferred Tax Liability (DTL)

Deferred Tax Liability (DTL) – A tax obligation that arises due to temporary differences between accounting income and taxable income, resulting in taxes payable in the future.

Example: If depreciation is higher for tax purposes than in books of accounts, a deferred tax liability is created for the difference.
