Guide to Download Capital Gain Statement from HDFC Securities

Introduction

• Capital gains are profits one earns from the sale of assets such as stocks, mutual funds and real estate. The gains will be classified as short term or long term based on how long they have been held.

• Instead of manually entering the details you can simply upload a “Capital Gains Statement” that is a consolidation of your investment performance, capital gains and income on HDFC Securities for the current and last financial years.

Process for HDFC Securities Capital Gain Statement

Step 1 : Login to your HDFC securities Demat Account

• Click on the following link https://www.hdfcsec.com/

• Clickon the Login button to be redirected to the Login page shared in the screenshot.

• Enter the Login Credentials.

Step 2 : Select Statement for Equity

• Click on Portfolio on the top and then Click on Capital Gains under “Statements” as shown in the screenshot.

Step 3 : Choose the following Options to opt for the required statement

• Financial Year - Current filing year

• Period - This should be set as Annual for yearly ITR filing

• AssetType - to be set as Equity

• Select the option “Detail” as this will provide a trade-wise breakup of the transaction which is more preferred while preparing the Income Tax return. Do not select Summary option.

Step 4 : Export / Download Statement

• Clickon Submit button.

• Choose Export Excel format to download the file

• With this report, you will get to know the transaction details like Speculative Gains (Intra day), Short Term Gains and Lond Term Gains.
